52 Ancestors Week 26 - Fanny Boweter

Fanny Boweter was born on June 2, 1866, in Yorkshire, England. She was the 4th of 7 children born to William Boweter and Emma Beddoes. She grew up in the Yorkshire area until the age of 17 when she and her family immigrated to Utah. She, her mother, and her younger siblings were on the SS Nevada from Liverpool to New York in 1883. Her father had immigrated the year before to get things ready for the family to come.

On August 10, 1885 she married Frank Hyrum Merryweather in Winter Quarters, Utah. Together Frank and Fanny had 13 children, 4 of whom died in infancy.

Fanny Boweter Merryweather died of pneumonia on February 21, 1951, in Cedar City, Utah, when she was 84 years old.
